Hard day pays off!

A pen is mightier than the sword. This statement is really correct! Luckily, I was one of the contestants to represent the entire Davao City to the Regional Secondary Schools Press Conference. This one of a kind event was held at Apokon, Tagum City - an hour away from the city. We departed Davao City last December 13, 2006 - that's Wednesday and arrived in Tagum City in the afternoon. Luckily, we had no class for the rest of that afternoon in preparation for the Periodical Test. Unfortunately, I'll take the periodical test tomorrow and I didn't study for English and Physics, oh no! Anyways let me reiterate some of the highlights from the 1st day 'til today.

It was our first day or first afternoon perhaps that we arrived in the baby city. Somehow, we went into our respective classrooms were we would spend our nights. Guess what, the room is not that homey, and it's like brood of mosquitoes flock in our room and I said to myself that I can't sleep with this kind of condition. Luckily, one of my teammate brought her mom and we transfer and packed our things for we will spend the two nights in a pension house situated along the school and funny is, it is located just behind a pharmacy shop. Let me describe the pad. It's spacious, air conditioned and it has a cable tv! Wow. Now I could sleep better. I could hardly imagine if I slept in one of the classrooms on that school. During the night, I had to review some of the important and significant points about writing a sports news.

Second day- the day of the contest proper. Somehow I was excited and nervous as well. For the whole morning, I had to practice and review in writing a sports news. Afternoon had arrived and all sports writers were called to proceed in the contest rooms. I brought my parafernalias there and some sort of a cramming there. Then we started at 2.42 pm. But we were all shocked because the proctor had written something on the board and we had to arranged only the sequence of the news plus there were wrong spellings in the board! He intended that one. But it's not our work but for the copyreader - to proofread the following and to check the spellings. Fortunately my writing is very neat and legible but I made this huge mistake! I wrote another surname of the player plus I forgot to write flyweight champion. Stupidity ruled on me once again. That day, we met the look alike of my terror Chemistry teacher and we all laughed. That night, I reviewed on my Physics book but all we do that night is to chitchat about our funny moments in the school and even our teachers! We all laughed like crazy hyenas.

It's the awarding day and I woke up late. We packed our things and headed towards the school gym. I was quite curious why people flock on the same column and there it was - the results for the Editorial cartooning and Photojournalism for both english and filipino. I called my good friend, Fredreich Layno because he got the 1st place in Editorial Cartooning! Wow, he's truly amazing for he will join the Nationals on Feb. 19-25, 2007 at the city of Pines - Baguio City! Unfortunately, the rest of us didn't won for the national level. But despite these, we felt happy and glad because of these memories imprinted on my mind that would last forever. At last I'm home, may singnal na sa cellphone ko! But I need to review for tomorrow's most difficult exam.

Animal Talk

I had this funny feeling. Tomorrow's gonna be our final unit test - Physics and English. Oh well, I've started on English because it's more on memorization. Sheesh, memorizing all facts on writing research papers and etc. which I find ineffective for all of the students, in behalf. Likewise, I'm halfway through with this crappy subject.. who knows? Is it because of our teacher or is it just me? Nah, never mind. Oh, it's the birthday of my dearest dad - he's 40 right now. Happy Birthday dad! Anyways, let me try to write another sensible post for this day.

About 2 weeks ago, my dog, named Krung doesn't want to eat nor he doesn't bark at all. The reason? He's jealous in our fellow dog, Bruce. Even though there brothers, both terrier in breed, dogs are known to be a jealous creature. Maybe, I drew a lot more attention to Bruce than to Krung because Bruce is only a puppy and Krung's already an adult. Despite there tremendous age gap, it's my responsibility to drew an equal attention to both of my dogs. I've learned that animals too have feelings. If they feel that they're been deprived by there masters, they tend to be sensitive which means they lack attention so they don't eat, bark to draw an attention. Seriously, I've read a lot of books and almanacs regarding animal behaviour and I found out that Bulldogs are the most jealous type of dog. If they're jealous then they tend to be sick and worse, they die because of remorse and rejection. So, all we need to do is to have some ample time to play with our dogs at home and caress or castrate them before it's too late. Dogs are known to be our guards at home (that is, if we can't afford security guards), plus they defend our territories especially on these days that home theft are rising due to lack security apparatus. Besides, dogs are adorable and studies shown that if a person had a pet dog at his crib, then his life span would increase for about 10 fruitful years. Could you imagine that?

In our house, it's always a nuiscance if it rained hard or even if it rained in just moment. Why? It's because numerous brood of snails crawled and creeps in our lawn. It's very yucky to see because for me snails are pests. If I could still remember in my Biology class two years ago, that snails acts as a decomposers. Well, they actually do but I don't know the other significance of snails in our environment. As long as they're in our lawn, I use to throw them in the road and I'll wait for the squishing sound - which reminds that the shell of the snail broke thus making the snail impossible to live, especially if the snail is way to big! But sometimes, if I'll go outside of our home to feed my beloved dogs, especially at night, is that I would accidentaly step on those critters especially if they're way too small to notice. Arrgghh! I wish I could totally eradicate them in a much safer way!

Inasmuch that I'm also an animal because human beings are the highest form of animal kingdom, we should treat each and everyone, it can be an animal or a fellow human, with respect and humility to live in a peaceful environment.

Undeniably wrong

Nakakainis naman oh, yung sa friendster, binago lahat ang concept!

Well,

I can't edit friendster unless I have time. Somehow, I could be a lot busier for the coming week. From December 13 to 15, I would be in Tagum City to attend the Regional Schools Press Conference under Sports writing. If I'll win this division, then I'll definitely join the Nationals on Baguio, yeehaah!

Oh by the way, our last field demo had finished moments ago and I'm tired, thinking that I dance like a foolish one. It's gonna be a long day this week. Because of stress, I got a pimple on my cheek! Arrgghhh! I'm so tired and I could hardly wait for the Christmas break! yeah, which means more food, more time to sleepand everything.

Mabuti naman, nagpadala ang auntie ko sa states, dalawang shirts nga lang, pero sosyal ang brand - Gap -
sounds unfamiliar right?
At last, I'm done with all those nerve-wrecking projects! Yeehah, periodical at RSPC nalang problemahin!

Ok, I think, hanggang dito nalang, kasi gagawa pa ako ng sports writing about badminton and mag-aral pa ako ng English at Physics.

It's not over!

Haha.. noon pa 'to kinuha, mga 2 weeks more or less ago.. sheesh bago pa ang foundation day, ang nakababaliw na stress week, at iba pa! Well, para sa mga curious dyan kung nasaan ako, well hanapin niyo nalang, haha! Kakaaliw naman, noong time na 'yan, gumagawa kami niyan ng Math project, yung manipulative board game gamit ang algrebraic equations.

Well time to switch to tagalog. Seemingly, all of our unit tests for this week are finished, and guess what, I'm 20 hours awake, and had only 4 hours of sleep! Imagine, I need to burn my eyebrows just to comply with the hectic schedule given by these teachers. What the heck, just give me a break!

Plus, it's gonna be our foundation day tomorrow and before that, we'll have the Panunuluyan which was last performed 3 years ago. TOday, I'm the pianist for tomorrow's Panunuluyan and it's kind a nervous thing because if I commit a slight mistake, well, just expect the worse thing to happen - to humiliate myself in front of those crappy people which I don't like and I've never wished for that unlikely circumstances.

Oh, by the way, the RSPC ( Regional Schools Press Conference ) would be on December 13-15 on Tagum City. If I'll win this division (which is Sports Writing in English), I would represent the region for the National Schools Press Conference that would be held this coming January or February 2007 at The Summer Capital of the Philippines - Baguio City! So please pray for me!

But the drawback is that right after the competition, I will take the periodical test on Saturday - Physics and the crappy English! As time goes by, the subject matters and topics are becoming more and more difficult and very ardious.

Well, I guess hanggang dito nalang, parang mandatory rest period lang to kasi wala kaming exams bukas. Can't wait for the Christmas break! Weeeeee!

The Launching of Stress Week!

It's the launching of the stress week. You know why? My, oh my gulay , I think you don't know about this anything for real! Well actually, it's the beginning of the stress week because for the whole week, it's our long unit tests for 6 major subjects namely, Christian Living, Mathematics, English, Physics, Filipino and Economics. It's kind a weird, I mean a feeling of remorse (as if?!). Well, let's get serious though. We took the CL unit test about almost two hours ago and I think my score would be 94%. Worse, we had only one unit test in CL due to insufficient time, thus to make that test a hundred items, the teacher made it only 50 points and double it, poooff! That will be your average score for the unit test. Sayang, hindi na 100% ang Work Output ko sa CL tulad nung second grading, baka 97% nalang, oh no! Kelangan, dapat ang final grade ko sa Cl would be 95 para pambawi sa English! hahaha

Seemingly, it's our unit test for Math and Filipino - funny thing was our Math teacher gave this lesson, which is proving the identities or the eight fundamental quantities of trigonometric function but just to think, tomorrow's gonna be our Math exam! sheesh! And for Filipino? Nah, just memorize the 6 chapters.

Foundation day is coming but still our dance is not yet to be finalize or what! Whatever.

How about that pesky Economics? The coverage is very broad thus I need to memorize as well as analyze the terms given to us. Grabeh, kaya ko pa ba? Sheesh, ako pah? (deep inside, ewan ko!)

And I tell you this just a beginning of the real world!

The second day

Today, it's the second day of December and yet I couldn't feel the presence of Christmas season. It's not that I'm manhid or what but one thing for sure:

EVEN IT'S DECEMBER, IT'S SOOOOO HUMID AND HOT! Hay naku grabeh, kung gaano katindi ang bagyo sa Albay, sing-init ng Sahara Desert dito sa Davao. Siguro ang Humidity level dito, lampas 100%! 'tas kung uulan, lalong umiinit ang panahon.

I've observed that sunset is earlier than usual. Even if it's still 5.30 in the afternoon, the sky's already dark - night devours day to make another creepy night to lived by. Haha!

Next week, let me share my "Oh so wonderful schedule for the following week:"

*UNIT TESTS*

December 4 - CL
December 5 - Math (Proving Identities and Algebra), Filipino (EL Fili chapter 25-30)
December 6 - Economics
Decembrer 7 - Physics - Optics
December 12 - English, Physics - Acoustics

*PROJECTS*

ah basta, kung ano ang schedule ng ut, ganon din ang deadline ng mga projects. o ha! Hanep diba?

Oh well, I think it would add up my stress plus it will be our Foundation Day this week. And up to this point, we hadn't finalize our dance as a whole batch.

Oh yeah! I think it would be better if I would be given a break or something! I'm really tired, you see, the life of a graduating student. To think, if I'm relaxed, I shall suffer the wrath! - that is the worst thing that I'll receive from my recklessness.

4 hours ago, we went to the CAP Auditorium to watch the play entitled Godspell . It was good and the performances is also great! And I must watch this play because it's the joint project of CL and English.

Somehow, I very excited of the Supernatural Season 2 . Wala pang dvd niyan kasi sa America, Episode 11 pa 'don and i think hanggang episode 28 ata 'yan.

It's time to say doodles to you 'coz I have lots of things to do - that is to study the whole 6 major subjects! Sh*t! Give me a break! I can't give up!

Wake up

I'm really disappointed with my score in my English test. Out of 50 items, I only got 38 which equals to 76%! What really frustrates me is that the lessons are very easy yet somehow, I only played the unit test as a game. Arrgghh! Uhmm, next time, try to analayze. Somehow, I manage to pass my Physics test - my highest so far with a score of 47 out 50 - equals to 94%.

I realized that cheating is really bad. You know why? maybe because of my result on English test, I realized that it was a bad karma. Really, and I tell you! Pati ang leakage! Grabe ang karma niyan chong! So, I must study every now and then especially the following weeks - another strenous nights to endure with. Seemingly, Life of a senior is not that easy and yet hard to forget. It's part of an experience in life.

Oh by the way, projects are close to its deadline so expect that I'll not create a post for a while because of these strenous activities in school.

After waiting for about 3 weeks, my grad pic has arrived right in my bery own filthy hands! Promise that I'll post that not later as soon as my good friend, Camille, would scan the photo and I'll upload on my friendster account and of course to my blog. Hope you like it 'coz I like it too.

I think it's time to say goodbye 'coz I had lots of things to do. Yes, walang pasok bukas! Yipee!

Tomorrow's gonna be the month of Yuletide season!

Seemingly sensible yet senseless!

I'm back! I'm here at the e-lib where I could surf the internet for free! Of course I pay in this institution a mere 25 thousand pesos per school year! Likewise, it's very cold in this place - a place for relaxation. Seemingly, we're only four (4) in this room. On my left side, Freidrich Layno, my good 'ol pal. oh-oh, looks like our teacher caught me - blogs are not included in this room starting today! Shoot! Anyways, let's proceed. On my right corner stand Nanskie and Machita Macha (of course not there real names) - they're traitors you know especially that poofie Machita!

Well sino ba yan si Machita? At higit sa lahat, may codename or full codename kami jan! MACHITA MATCHA y ILUSIONADA o, diba, hanep? hahaha. 'Lam niyo, ang laki talaga ng pride niya, ewan ko ba dyan, mga fake stories niya na ah basta! Alam mo na iyon, basta yun ang life story ni Machita

Let me describe about Machita:

-She's a girl and she's pure Chinese "daw"
-She's quite fat and had a boring personality (no offense but true)

Oh well, things change. What else? Hahahahaha! Sa wakas natapos na rin ang pictorials ng El Fili namin! I'm so happy but to tell you the truth, time is ticking. Lately I realize that December 8, 2006 is fast approaching! And on that same date, I'm gonna play the organ for the "Panunuluyan" - sounds unfamiliar to me but it portrays a play about Mama Mary and her life. Seemingly time goes by - as what Madonna's lyrics on her hit single "Hung Up".

It's time to go because it's our unit test on English and worse, it's simultaneous, walang leakage! Ang lupet!
